Mission Statement

The Cherokee County Domestic Violence Task Force’s vision is to strengthen and sustain the coordinated community response to family violence in Cherokee County, Georgia.

The Cherokee County Domestic Violence Task Force will accomplish this by:
• Increasing perpetrator accountability
• Enhancing victim safety
• Promoting systemic change by providing ongoing and evolving education and awareness to the community at large.

Meeting Information

Meetings take place on the second Friday of each month at the Historic Courthouse in Canton, Georgia.

Domestic violence leaves a mark on the whole family. There is help. There is hope.

Task Force,

One of our member agencies, Cherokee Family Violence Center, is in the running to win part of $5,000,000 from Chase Bank. The money is awarded by popular vote and CFVC is currently ranked in the Top 25 in the country! They have asked that we forward this on to all of you to help spread the word about voting. The voting process is completed through Facebook.com and only takes a few seconds.

Chase Community Giving is asking you to help decide which 200 local charities should share in $5,000,000 in donations. They want to know what matters most to you and your community. We need you to let them know, through your vote, that the work that Cherokee Family Violence Center does, matters to you! Voting is completed on Facebook and is open from June 15^th – July 12^th. On July 13^th, the winning charities will be announced. One will receive $250K, four will receive $100K, and 195 others will receive $20K each! CFVC needs these funds to continue our work with victims of domestic violence and their children.

Did you know that Cherokee Family Violence Center runs the largest transitional housing development for victims, in the entire country? Did you know that we have worked with international victims from more than 35 countries? Did you know that we offer supportive services, community outreach, education and legal advocacy in addition to running an emergency shelter for victims? We do, and we need your help letting others know!

The voting process takes less than a minute; time well spent when you consider that seven people become victims of domestic violence in that amount of time.
